[ idealhome ] The dream of every juice expert
We tried the Kuvings REVO830 Cold Press Juicer - a juice connoisseur's dream.
The REVO830 Cold Press Juicer is a big investment, but it's also the only juicing device you'll ever need - and then some!
Are you looking for a way to keep your health boost from the beginning of the year for the rest of the year? Maintaining nutrient balance can be a tough challenge, especially during those dark winter months. One way to keep your motivation and consumption of all things green is to invest in a quality juicer, namely the Kuvings REVO830 Cold Press Juicer.
This top-of-the-line juicer may come at a price higher than other mid-range devices, but it's an all-round superstar when it comes to juice (and even smoothies and sorbet). As one of the best juicers, it has a fantastically high juice yield, intelligent automatic cutting technology that reduces preparation time and an exceptionally powerful motor.
Who tested this juicer?

The Kuvings REVO830 Slow Juicer was kindly provided by UK Juicers for her to test at home for several months before writing this review and it has helped her rediscover her love for green juices.
First impressions
I have to admit that this juicer intimidated me right out of the box. It's quite big and looks quite complicated. Luckily, the stuff that comes with it is an absolute godsend when it comes to setup and use - I'm still checking the instructions months later for tips on ingredients. A whole page is devoted to what not to put in this juicer, which is a comfort to me when I'm afraid of breaking something.
The recipe book is fantastic too. It's packed with ideas for healthy juices, how to make baby food and nut drinks, and also cocktail recipes that I've flipped through the most. With the sorbet strainer, you can also use this juicer to make frozen desserts, which is a lot of fun.
As for the controls, there's a button on the side to toggle between on, off and reverse, so nothing complicated if you're brand new to juicing. The two filling chutes are very practical.
The larger one is big enough to fit an apple or similar sized fruit, and the smaller one is the perfect length for tossing in carrots or celery.
make apple juice
I started by juicing four apples because I wanted to see if a whole apple could actually fit into the larger feed hole that is visible on the front of the juicer. The Gala apples I picked up fit easily in the feed opening, which means that if one wanted to buy a larger variety, it would probably fit just fine as well. So, to make apple juice, you literally don't have to prepare anything - a dream for a quick morning drink.
To set the Flipgate mechanism in motion, all one has to do is unclip it at the top and place the apple on the holder, and the weight of the apple pushes it down through the hopper into the press screw grinder. It's fun,
Watching the apple get chopped up and the juice pouring almost instantly into the juice outlet tube exiting the juicer. At the end of the spout is the clever cap, also known as the “Smart Cap”, which you can leave on to make blended juice or to avoid drips when rinsing out your containers.
The juicer works very quickly and in a few minutes (or maybe even less) the juice was ready in the container. Frothing was minimal and aside from the initial cracking of the apples, I found this juicer to be relatively quiet. The apple juice tasted delicious and I also used it for smoothies later in the day with the juicer so there is a lot of versatility in making fresh apple juice.
I measured the juice yield of the apples used to get a feel for how much you can get from the raw materials and found that 71% of the apples were processed into juice, which really impressed me. Since there is no preparation involved and the results are great, I now make apple juice a lot, especially when I need something to mix with smoothies.
Make Green Juice
The accompanying manual is full of information on the benefits of vegetable juices, and each individual recipe has a key that tells you how bitter or sweet each combination is and how long it takes to prepare. These little touches go a long way in making you feel more confident while juicing.
The green juice I made was made with spinach, a carrot, a lime, an apple, and two stalks of celery. This juice required the most prep because to put citrus in the main juicer, you have to peel off the peel. That doesn't take much time.
The carrots and celery can simply be placed in the thinner shaft with no further preparation required. However, the recipe book recommends soaking the carrots in cold water beforehand for best results.
When I first tried this juice I forgot to keep the smart cap closed, but it gave a good view of the juicer cleanly separating the pulp and juice through the two spouts. I gave it another try and this time remembered to keep the Smart Cap closed to allow the juice to mix properly inside the device and the flavors to blend better.
As with the apple juice, the Kuvings REVO830 Cold Press Juicer is a fast working machine and before I knew it, there was green juice waiting to be discarded. The dual chute system means that if you choose wisely, you rarely have the problem of ingredients clogging up before they get into the blender. There is also a pestle to insert into the longer chute which I used to get the last bits of spinach into the auger.
The end result was a delicious green juice with a nice citrus flavor and since there is very little prep to do, this juicer has definitely helped me drink these drinks more often. If there's anything in the recipe book, it means I'm getting a lot more nutrients into my diet than before, and it tastes delicious too.
cleaning
One of the things that impressed me the most about the Kuvings juicer was how easy the cleaning process is. After each juice you will inevitably find some level of clogged pulp in the main juicing screen. As well as a very handy little brush to remove the excess, this juicer also comes with a wraparound strainer brush that matches the shape of the strainer but is larger.
Just put on the larger strainer, twist it around the strainer and watch the leftovers come out clean. While other juicers such as B. the Ninja Cold Press Juicer are a bit of a hassle to clean, the Kuvings has these special tools to make your life that little bit easier.
The only downside is that this juicer and its parts are not dishwasher safe. As I don't own a dishwasher this wasn't a problem for me and I feel that the tools provided cut down the cleaning time significantly.
Comparison
In terms of quality, the Kuvings feels largely unbeatable, with a high juice yield, excellent quality materials, tremendous performance, and barely any prep for most of the ingredients I use. However, if you're shopping on a tight budget you might be looking for a comparable, less expensive alternative than the Kuvings REVO830, the Kuvings B8200 comes in handy and is around £240 cheaper.
Should You Buy the Kuvings REVO830 Cold Press Juicer?
If you're brand new to juicing and not sure if you want to make it a habit, then the price is something to consider. A juicer like the Kuvings B8200 could be a good place to start so you can get a feel for whether investing in a juicer is worth it.
If you're outgrowing your entry-level juicer, or if you already have one, then I can't think of a better choice than the Kuvings REVO830 Cold Press Juicer. Thanks to the powerful
With the auger system, little preparation is required to make your daily juice and cleaning is easy if you use the device frequently. You can be sure that you will have this product at home for many years thanks to the quality of the materials. There's no denying that this is a serious financial investment, but if you are, or aspire to be, a juicing professional, you will soon find yourself using this very capable device.
We put this juicer to the test for over two months to find out how easy it is to use, how well it juices, and if it's an investment you'll use months after you buy it.
